Much better!

I woke up this morning feeling fully recovered from Friday’s workout. It’s amazing what lots of good food and rest can do.

Speaking of good food, last night we went to Spoon and Fork for dinner. I can’t believe how packed this place always is; it’s definitely one of the most popular restaurants in Oakville. If I were to recommend anything off the menu here, it would have to be something with their peanut sauce – it is crazy good. In fact, if you could just order the peanut sauce by itself, I probably would. No joke!

For my main, I ordered spicy eggplant, tofu and vegetables with steamed rice. The eggplant was good but a little too oily for my taste. I still ate most of it though; I was brought up to believe it’s rude to leave food on your plate (I am half Italian, after all, and a guaranteed way to insult an Italian relative is to not eat every last morsel of food placed in front of you) and it’s a habit I’m still learning to kick.

At least it was healthy-ish. Sort of.

This morning, I did an early Body Pump class. Can you believe it’s been over a week since I last did Body Pump? Today, I increased my weights to 17kg for the squat track and 10kg for the chest track. Squats went well, chest presses not so much – I had to skip a few reps at the end but I think I’ll be able to make it all the way through next time.

Time to shower and get ready for our Mother’s Day lunch, which will probably be followed by a long walk by the lake. The weather is absolutely gorgeous today and I can’t wait to get outside!  Happy Mother’s Day to all the mommies out there!
