Sunday Refresh

Unlike most Sundays, which tend to involve a lot of reading and napping, I actually got a lot done today. I got an early start with an 8 a.m. Body Pump Express class. The Express format is paired with CXWORX and includes the warm-up, squat, chest, back and abs tracks. This was followed by 30 minutes of CXWORX, which is growing on me a little more every time I do it. I’m starting to like the feel of the resistance bands, especially in the shoulder track. It’s a nice complement to Body Pump, as they’re too very different workouts that work your muscles in different ways.

After Pump, I went shopping with my friend and basically refreshed my entire wardrobe. I hadn’t bought new clothes in ages, so this trip was long overdue. When I got home, I filled two large bags with old clothes to give away and re-organized my closet. It feels great having a full closet of clothes that I’m actually excited to wear.

Once the wardrobe was sorted, I tried a new recipe from Clean Eating Magazine, which is my new go-to source for healthy recipes (in addition to having a stale wardrobe, my eats were getting a little monotonous as well). Tonight, I made One-Pot Lentils & Chicken.

This was one of the healthiest and best tasting recipes I’ve made in a long time. Check out the nutritionals:

I also tried another one of their recipes last night – Ricotta and Spinach Frittata.

I ate half for dinner with a spinach salad and had a slice this morning as a post-workout snack.

Nothing like new clothes and new eats to get the week off to a good start!

  1. Yum! That Frittata looks good, and I’m not even a big egg person normally!

I’ve never heard of that class, but it sounds cool! I LOVE body Pump, so I’d probably enjoy it :)
