Yesterday was going to be a rest day but I felt good to go in the evening and decided to switch my rest day from Wednesday to Thursday. I figured it would be easier to do a workout in the evening than to wake up early and go before work. I’ve gotten used to morning workouts but if I can avoid them, I will.
I had dinner plans after work so I missed BodyPump at 7:30. Instead, I did a completely ad-libbed free weights workout:
| Exercise | Weight |
| Barbell Squat | 65 lbs |
| Plie squat | 20 lb dumbbell |
| One-legged Romanian deadlift | 12.5 lb dumbbells |
| Dumbbell chest press | 15 lb dumbbells |
| Push ups | N/A |
| Lat pull downs | 55 lbs |
| Dead row | 30 lbs |
| Shoulder press | 12.5 lb dumbbells |
| Tricep press | 20 lbs |
When I got to the gym, I was bummed out to discover that my music collection had been wiped out from when I last charged my iPod:

Boo! Good thing I discovered this at the gym. Not gonna lie, I probably would’ve skipped my workout had I known beforehand that I wouldn’t have my music.
As for the music at the gym, it was barely audible (although it was blaring in the change rooms – cause, you know, everybody needs pump-up music to stash their stuff in a locker but dead silence to actually work out).
My only entertainment was eavesdropping on the personal trainer and her client nearby. Their conversation wasn’t too riveting but at one point, the client and I were doing the exact same exercise at the exact same time, facing the same mirror, which looked pretty funny. Naturally, I listened carefully to all of the pointers the PT was giving her, which I suppose I would’ve missed had I been tuned into my headphones (silver lining?).
When I got out of bed this morning, I felt totally fine and was psyched that I’d somehow avoided the dreaded delayed onset muscle soreness. Fast forward an hour later and I was limping around my house while getting ready for work. Everything I worked last night is sore right now. Rest day = earned.
For dinner, I made a recipe that was simple but delicious:

Chicken thighs with sweet potatoes cooked in oil, apple cider vinegar, onions, garlic and thyme.
This week has been a pretty decent one at work but I am still more than ready for the weekend. Josh and I are seeing Jerry Seinfeld tomorrow night! I’m a huge Seinfeld nerd and am totally geeking out over this. Can’t wait!
Happy (almost) Friday!

Sometimes I switch up my rest days too, because I just FEEL ready to workout! haha I think as long as you go with what your body feels like, it works
So jealous you get to see Jerry! I’m a huge Seinfeld fan!
First, that dinner looks delicious! That is such an ideal meal for me, nice and easy, but nutritious and tasty of course
Boo I am not a fan of no music at the gym, but glad you stuck it out there!
