Most of my WIAW posts are based on the previous day’s eats but this week, I’m going to post my planned meals and snacks for today.
I’m extra excited for today’s breakfast because strawberries are finally in season, meaning one of my go-to breakfasts – strawberries and almond butter on a P28 bagel – will taste that much more delicious.

For lunch, I’ll be eating leftovers from Tuesday night – paprika-rubbed chicken breasts with carrots, fennel, dried apricots and couscous.

Today, I’m not bringing any snacks to work. When I was following a fat loss diet, I absolutely had to have a snack between meals or else I would be starving by the time lunch or dinner rolled around.
Now that I’m eating more in general, I find I don’t need to snack as much or as often as I used to, yet I still end up snacking out of habit. The whole “eat six times a day or your metabolism will shut down and die” mantra has been ingrained in my head and I’m trying to move away from that mentality.
Since this month’s theme is sensible snacking, one of my goals is to only snack when I’m genuinely hungry. I keep a can of tuna and crackers in my desk in case I do get hungry at work. Since I don’t love this snack combo, I know I won’t just eat it to alleviate stress or boredom (or to procrastinate – when faced with an unpleasant task, I always seem to hit up the kitchen).
For dinner, I’m going to re-visit an improvised salad I threw together on Monday night. Basically, I added two slices of toasted rye bread to my usual chicken, spinach, avocado and grape tomato salad. The bread really soaked up the dressing (a mix of lemon juice and olive oil) and it was so flavourful, plus it added a nice crunch to my salad.

I’m planning to go to BodyPump in the evening, so my post-Pump snack will be a high protein one: 3/4 cup of Greek yogurt with a scoop of chocolate Sun Warrior protein powder.

Do you eat six times a day? If so, is it out of habit or because you actually get hungry six times a day?

I love the combo of nut butter and strawberries. Looks fantastic! And your lunch looks wonderful – I love apricots!!
How do you like the Sun Warrior? I’ve been looking for a vegan protein powder and have tried a few. SW is one that’s on my list to try. I eat 5 times a day. Every now and then it feels like it’s more of a habit but for the most part I’m hungry.

I like Sun Warrior but I’ve only tried one other brand and it was a really cheap brand I bought at Walmart that had a really strong aspartame taste to it – so I’m not exactly a protein powder connoisseur.
But you should definitely try it out. I like that it doesn’t have a really long list of freaky ingredients.
Your breakfast bagel looks Yummy!!
I love this greek yogurt mixture I am seeing everywhere. I need to try it. I am a snacker more than a big meal type person so I tend to snack frequently.
I used to snack a lot more and I want to go back to it, because I felt better then. I’ve been eating 3 or 4 big meals a day for a while now, though. Also, P28 bagels? New addiction!

Your lunch sounds awesome…I love having leftover around!
I love that you only snack when you are genuinely hungry! I think that is so important and something we tend to overlook way too often! That lunch looks so good btw!
I do eat six meals a day, and I would definitely get too hungry if I didn’t. Your eats here look delicious! I am loving that strawberries are in season now too!
I like three big meals and I’ve found that if I eat more at those meal times then I don’t really need to snack
